Enpirion claims to have once again packed more electrical power into a smaller space than anyone else in the world with its EN5360. The 6 A fully integrated DC-to-DC converter is targeted at POL applications such as servers, PCs, set-top boxes, medical equipment, aerospace/military applications and tele- and data-comms equipment. It features an integrated inductor and needs only four external components and 163 mm² of board space for the entire converter solution. It comes in a dual flat no-lead (DFN) TSSOP footprint package that is 2,2 mm high. Operation from common voltage rails of 2,5 V, 3,3 V and 5 V is achieved with a wide input voltage range from 2,375 V to 5,5 V. Full protection functionality is offered with over-current, short-circuit, over-voltage, under-voltage and thermal shutdown features.
