Gaskets for easing enclosure door EMI problems

Circuit & System Protection
For combatting electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems where enclosure doors, cabinets and boxes are concerned, EMI shielding and thermal interface solutions provider, Laird Technologies, can supply copper beryllium fingerstock gaskets.
These act as conductive seals, stopping such emissions from reaching sensitive equipment within, or leaking out to similarly affect equipment located outside.
The company's fingerstock gaskets offer extremely high shielding for a seal. Also, says the company, these products are excellent whether used in a wiping action or in compression - the elastic nature of the copper beryllium metal alloy means it has a repeatable cycle that is ideal for door closure. Compression and deflection performances are excellent, even at high temperatures.
Laird Technologies' copper beryllium fingerstock gaskets provide an EMI attenuation of 124 dB at 10 MHz. Self-adhesive or clip mounting versions are available to suit specific applications, and the standard finishes are bright copper or tin. A wide range of profiles is available.
Additionally available from the company are similar fingerstock gaskets in stainless steel (also phosphor bronze) for applications where corrosion might be a problem or where high cleanliness is required - such as in the food, beverage or pharmaceuticals industries.
