High-frequency tuner chips for digital TV world-wide

According to German chipmaker Infineon Technologies, 80% of the 12 million end-user devices such as television sets or set-top boxes deployed world-wide for digital terrestrial television operate with its components. The Infineon receiver systems not only process digital signals according to the European DVB standard, but also according to the American, Japanese, Korean and Chinese standards for digital television. Since they are also suitable for analog picture signals, all transmission paths world-wide are available for televisions using these receivers. To enable mobile television, Infineon and its partner companies already developed in 2003, an additional PCMCIA-card for laptops. This card enables for the first time mobile digital television reception according to the DVB-T standard and is widely used in mobile end-user equipment.
