World's smallest SAW filters

Murata has started mass production of the world's smallest single band and dual band SAW filters. They are designed to further reduce the weight and volume of cellular handsets. The new parts are known as the SAFEB (single band) and SAWEP (dual band) series.
The SAFEB series measures 1,35 x 1,05 x 0,6 mm and weighs 0,3 mg, while the SAWEP dual band devices measure 2,0 x 1,6 x 0,6 mm and weighs 6 mg.
The SAW filter devices are installable with lead free soldering such as Sn-Ag-Cu, and can be processed with reflow soldering at 260°C peak temperature.
