Double-layer capacitor rated at 2500 F

Wima offers super-capacitors with a capcitance of 2500 F, that are suitable for support, protection, or replacement of batteries in the field of new traction technologies.

Double-layer capacitors contain energy that is comparable with the energy stored in small batteries, however, their release current is considerably higher. This is achieved by the use of an electric double layer as a dielectric. A further advantage is that they do not need maintenance. The capacitor provides an extremely large electrode surface area in a very small volume, enabling the high capacitances in small dimensions. Series connection is possible.

The key specifications are: capacitance, 2500 F; capacitance tolerance 20%; rated voltage, 2,5 V; rated current, 450 A; internal resistance, 0,7 mΩ; max. stored energy, 7813 J; operating temp.
