Ampro upgrades embedded product line to comply with RoHS
27 July 2005Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services
Ampro Computers has announced that being committed to supporting its customers with high quality products and services that meet the EU's RoHS directive it is currently transitioning its products and manufacturing processes. Many of its products will be compliant with the RoHS requirements by the end of 2005 - well before the 1 July, 2006 EU effective date for most electronic assemblies. This allows customers to purchase its compliant products and integrate them within their end products prior to the EU deadline.
This technological transition to achievement of the RoHS directive is complex in scope including changes to product design, manufacturing, components selection, sourcing and design verification processes. Although this transition process represents a huge and complex effort, Ampro is making progress with new product designs, manufacturing processes and its component supply chain.
All new Ampro products introduced to the market after 1 July, 2005 will be RoHS compliant at their introduction.
