New 'lead-free' solutions range offers assemblers many benefits
27 July 2005Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services
In response to customer demand, Dek has launched 'Dek Lead-free', a product range designed to optimise productivity and process capability for the screen printing industry.
The products range from Dek's ProFlow technology and lead-free VectorGuard stencils, to squeegees and cleaning materials specifically designed for lead-free use. All of these products are optimised for lead-free solder paste behaviour.
This range benefits from the combination of Dek's research expertise and technology partners, which has led to the creation of a vast compatibility database for lead-free solder pastes and materials, in addition to an array of successful lead-free process development projects.
The company says that its approach to lead-free pre-placement implementation begins with a focused process audit and centres on its established 'Site Implementation Plan' methodology. As a consequence, it is able to reduce turnaround time and minimise risk when creating lead-free processes for varied requirements.
"As the first assembly process in virtually all SMT production lines, high accuracy mass imaging needs to be perfectly in balance to achieve high quality and high yield at the end-of-line," comments Dek's Mike Besant. "Dek Lead-Free not only enables an optimally efficient, right-first-time transition to lead-free high accuracy mass imaging, but also includes all process support products, knowledge and process development expertise to support our customers' lead-free processes in the longer-term."
