Developed locally by ASIC Design Services, PCILite provides a simple low-cost solution for a common PCI requirement.
PCILite is a PCI Target which allows old ISA card designs to be converted to PCI, requiring minimum effort from the designer. It provides an Intel-like microprocessor back-end interface with simple read, write and chip-select signals. The duration of these signals is software programmable. PCILite connects to peripherals through user address and data buses. Additional user-definable pins which can act as either inputs or outputs or can be programmed to be chip-selects are also provided. PCILite is available in an 8, 16 or 32 bit version.
The smallest package/footprint for PCILite is a standard 100-pin TQFP package with dimensions of only 16 x 16 mm. PCILite is attractively priced at under US$10 in volume.
PCILite is easy to use and comes with a simple to understand Datasheet and User Guide. An evaluation board which allows system designers to evaluate PCILite performance and functionality is also available.
For customers requiring something more than a PCI Target, ASIC Design Services offer PCIPlus. PCI functions such as Master and DMA controller, plus user specific logic functionality, such as glue logic and FIFO interfaces, can be implemented in a single PCIPlus device providing additional logic integration benefits.
