Kingbright has introduced an exceptionally small chip-type blue SMD LED to the market. This ultra thin small 0402 design (1 x 0,5 x 0,5 mm) comes with a GaN blue LED chip which the company claims provides the luxury of having blue indication in an application at a fraction of the cost of the traditional blue SMD LED. Kingbright is also extending this cost advantage in blue technology to all its other SMD LEDs in its line.
Kingbright's newly-introduced 0402 package is available in the full spectrum of colour (from 430 nm to 700 nm) and brightness (from AlInGaP to InGaN technology) besides the low cost GaN option.
