With PIP Power, an extended product range of switched-mode power supplies from Murrelektronik, an optimal solution for virtually every customer application, fulfilling economical, size and functionality requirements is offered, according to the company. There are three PIP Power product families: MCS - the universal solution; MCS-B - the economical solution; MPS - the multifunctional solution.
The PIP Power MCS family is an all-rounder. Aside from the high performance at an output of 24 V, this family boasts a continuous increased output of 20% at an ambient temperature up to 40°C, wide range input voltage with PFC for single- and three-phase networks in both industrial and residential areas, as well as an intelligent load line for trouble-free parallel connection. These units are particularly suitable for use in either mixed or residential areas in accordance with EN 61204-3, which makes higher demands on such power supply units. Due to the slimline book format, MCS units require up to 50% less space, saving space in control panels even for a 40 A three-phase unit.
The PIP Power family MCS-B series represents an economical alternative for smaller and medium type applications. The lower ranges have been taken into consideration, and in the smallest unit the output of 0,6 A at 24 V is advantageous not only for small applications, but also for decentralised energy architectures that can be found in large systems. An additional noteworthy feature is the 'foot' on the sides of the housing that allows similar units to be lined up next to each other while still ensuring adequate air circulation spacing between units.
The PIP Power MPS has been developed for tough industrial single or three phase environments from 3 to 40 A. The flat design is ideal not only for extensive control cabinets, but also for terminal boxes. The MPS family features a switching output that may be read directly from the PLC. It signals both overload and overheating problems and operates as a fail-safe function.
On all these units three LED indicators give a clear view of their status, ensuring quicker trouble-shooting and reducing downtime.
