New CPFT contacts (compliant press-fit termination technology) from Preci-Dip Durtal is an adaptation of the well known 'eye of the needle', press-fit principle, but introduces several significant improvements.
The contacts are precision machined of a special bronze alloy. Their surface is exceptionally smooth and comes with a homogeneous electroplated tin or gold surface protection. CPFT contacts are entirely IEC 352 T5 certified.
These compliant terminations have been fully studied and tested in order to fulfil the following important requirements: lowered insertion force into the PCB, increased specific contact pressure, clearly defined, highly reliable, gas-tight contact zones; no damage to metallisation of PCB holes.
Most products in the Preci-Dip line are available with the new CPFT contacts, eg: PCB connectors and contact strips, DIL and PGA sockets, customer specific connectors and interconnecting devices.
