Vishay Intertechnology has extended the IHLP family of low-profile, high-current inductors with a new device that it claims offers the lowest DCR/µH available in a 10,2 x 10,2 mm package with a low 4 mm height profile.
The new IHLP-4040DZ-15 is a high-performance, space- and power-saving solution that features industry-leading specifications including DCR values down to 0,50 mΩ at 0,19 μH. This power inductor is intended for DC-DC converter applications in end products including next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, graphics cards; and low-profile, high-current power supplies and point of load converters. It will also be used in distributed power systems and to regulate power for FPGAs.
In addition, the IHLP-4040DZ-15 handles high transient current spikes without saturation and operates over a frequency range up to 1 MHz. Saturation current and typical DCR values for the inductor range up to 44 A and from 0,50 mΩ to 5,20 mΩ, respectively, over an inductance range of 0,19 μH to 2 µH. Inductance tolerance is 20%. It is rated for use over -55 to +125°C.
