Erni's LPV family of IEC 60603-13 (DIN 41651) compliant connectors offers a comprehensive spectrum of board-to-cable connectors with a 2,54 mm pitch. The proven and reliable IDC technology used ensures gas-tight and corrosion-resistant contact with a consistently low contact resistance throughout the product's service life. An integrated polarising key prevents incorrect mating and damaged contacts. Optional locking latches secure the connection by providing additional protection against inadvertent release caused by strain from vibrations and shock loads. When the locking latch is opened, the female connectors are lifted out of the contact evenly in order to prevent damage.
The female connector is designed to be used with 1,27 mm ribbon cables. The IDC contacts cut through the insulation material, so it is not necessary to strip off the insulation. The strain relief clamps that are included in the delivery make it possible to lead cables out at an angle of 90 or 180° to the plug connector. The male connectors are available with press-fit, wave-soldering and through-hole-reflow termination. Besides the standard overall height of 17 mm, there are also low-profile, 9,4 mm versions available. There are 10 housing sizes available for both male and female connectors in pin configurations with 10, 14, 16, 20, 26, 34, 40, 50, 60 or 64 positions.
