Fujitsu Components Europe has released its smallest battery-driven thermal printer mechanism with an integrated guillotine cutter. Designed for handheld or fixed terminals, POS, medical equipment, and measuring instrumentation, the new printer is 20% smaller than its predecessor, the FTP-628MCL353.
Fujitsu minimised the new printer's size and weight by using lightweight materials and redesigning the cutting mechanism. As a result, the 2-inch FTP-628MCL401 printer with the cutter weighs 97 g and has dimensions of 21,8 x 81,2 x 42,2 mm. It has a flexible operating range of 4,2 V to 8,5 V d.c. and is capable of a maximum print speed of 60 mm/s (480 dotlines/sec) at 8 V d.c. with 8 dot/mm resolution.
The FTP-628MCL401 with an integrated guillotine cutter accommodates paper widths up to 58 mm and 60 to 100 μm thick. The printer features a die-cast frame that is designed to absorb ESD, and provide stability against vibration and shock. It also facilitates the printer's 0 to 50°C operating temperature range. In addition, all component wiring is contained in a single flex circuit.
