The new RoHS-compliant ZDC coax connector series from Tyco Electronics is claimed to offer cost-effective solutions for commercial applications by the use of precision diecast components, and thermoplastic dielectrics. Initially available in BNC interfaces and a variety of styles, the range offers economy and reliability.
The connector interfaces are compatible with the requirements of MIL-C-39012 and MIL STD348A, and are thus intermateable with products manufactured to these specifications. Available in a range of cable-mounted plugs and jacks, bulkhead and PCB sockets, the ZDC range offers a comprehensive choice of solutions. The crimp connectors use standard hexagonal crimp tools and die sets, avoiding costly retooling.
Key features include: nickel-plated zinc die cast construction; gold-plated centre contact and thermoplastic dielectric; bayonet coupling for rapid connectivity; threaded coupling to provide secure termination; multiple PCB mounting options and styles; reliable and repeatable crimp termination; operating temperature range of -55 to +85°C; and a minimum of 50 durability cycles.
The connector series is ideal for applications such as instrumentation, medical equipment, industrial process and control, transportation and CCTV monitoring.
