Smallest yellow laser

Claimed to be the smallest yellow laser on the market, French company Oxxius launched the single-frequency, 561-nm DPSS laser at the recent Photonics West exhibition in San Jose, USA.
Oxxius (www.oxxius.com), a manufacturer of disruptive lasers, says that its ultra-compact SLIM-561 laser module, a continuous-wave diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) yellow laser offers power levels up to 25 mW while combining outstanding optical quality and spectral purity. It is intended for fluorescence applications and meets the ever growing needs of the biophotonics industry, in particular, for cell counting and sorting or advanced microscopy applications.
The SLIM-561 leverages the company's alignment-free monolithic resonator (AMR) technology, a patented technique that allows most laser emission lines to be generated and doubled. The Oxxius product line features compact laser modules with wavelengths in the visible and near-ultraviolet spectrum that are well suited to a wide range of instrumentation and scientific applications.
