Dual single-supply analog switches with negative signal handling

Maxim's MAX4908/9 are dual SP3T (single-pole triple-throw) analog switches intended for audio applications. These switches handle negative signals with a single positive power supply, thereby reducing external component count and improving audio signal quality. The devices feature integrated shunt resistors to ground, which helps reduce audio popping and clicking sounds by depleting the capacitive charge that commonly builds up on the unconnected port of the switch, to ground. In addition, an extremely low 0,38 Ω on-resistance, a low 0,35 Ω on-resistance flatness, and a low 0,02% total harmonic distortion yield very good audio signal quality. The devices are available in the extended temperature range (-40 to 85°C) and in both a tiny 12-bump UCSP (1,5 x 2,0 mm) and a 14-pin TDFN package (3 x 3 pmm).
