Micro-D combination interconnection solution

22 March 2006 Interconnection

Manufacturers of military systems, geophysical exploration devices, medical diagnostics, commercial aviation and industrial equipment face many of the same packaging requirements for reduced size, weight and shape.

For these reasons one should consider Micro-D Combination connectors from Ulti-Mate Connector which are micro-miniature inter-connects mixing signal, power and coax contacts in one shell.

Ulti-Mate Connector has developed innovative products to solve high-density interconnect problems in space, high temperature and other harsh environments. This connector series is four times the density of a standard D-Sub connector. It combines Micro 24 gauge contacts carrying up to 3 A, Power 18 gauge contacts carrying 10 A, and 40 Ω coax contacts.

Standard configuration will have 20 signals with four cavities for power or coax contacts. Ulti-Mate Connector's tooling allows it to provide any configurations one wishes. Users can mix and match from shell Size 5 (17,4 mm wide) to shell Size 65 (55,50 mm wide) allowing up to 10 power contacts in: wire-to-wire, wire-to-board, or board-to-board configurations.

This interconnect solution can provide users with a long term durability and performance solution.
