The JAV 041 & 042 semaphores from Mimic Components/Crafts are automatic status indicators for circuit breakers, isolators, earth switches, etc on mimic diagrams of control panels. The indicators consist of an armature that rotates between the poles of an electro-magnet. The indicator pointer is black in colour, is fixed to the armature, and turns against a white background.
When the circuit breaker or isolator is in a closed position, the pointer bridges the gap between the lines and provides continuity in the mimic diagram. When the circuit breaker or isolator is in an open position, it takes up position which is at right angles to the mimic. If the supply to the indicator fails, then it takes up an intermediate position at 45°. The indicator is housed in a cylindrical moulded case and is designed essentially for flush mounting on control panels.
Two versions are available: the JAV 041, which has a diameter of 63 mm and the JAV 042, which has a diameter of 48 mm. However the panel cutout dimension is 41 mm diameter for both types. The indicator coil is designed for 24/30 V d.c. rating although for 48 V, 110 V and 220 V d.c. applications, a screw type series resistor is supplied.
Mimic Components also offer a range of 'high reliable' LED-type semaphores as well as an entire range of LED pilot lights.
