Maxim's MAX9787, a Class AB 2,2 W speaker amplifier with integrated analog volume control, a beep input, and industry-leading 90 dB power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR), delivers audiophile audio quality with 0,01% THD+N, making it ideal for multimedia monitors, notebook computers, and portable audio players.
The analog volume control can be driven with a potentiometer, an RC-filtered PWM source, or a DAC output. The Beep input allows one to add alert signals from a system controller to the audio path. The 90 dB PSRR ensures low THD+N even when using an unregulated power supply.
Click-and-pop suppression eliminates audible transients during power and shutdown cycles. Other device features include a single-supply voltage, shutdown mode, logic-selectable gain, and thermal-overload and output short-circuit protection. Four maximum gain settings range from 6 dB to 10,5 dB with two gain pins.
The MAX9787 is offered in thermally efficient 28-pin thin QFN (5 x 5 x 0,8 mm) package, specified over -40 to +85°C.
