Rising clamp terminal blocks

17 May 2006 Interconnection IoT & Automation

Camden Electronics has launched a range of 5 and 5,08 mm pitch terminal blocks that feature numerous design enhancements to deliver better quality and improved strength among other attributes. The CTB0101 and CTB0109 series terminal blocks are now available in standard colour grey (RAL 7035) to complement the company's range of DIN rail mounting enclosures.

CTB0101 and CTB0109 terminal blocks feature a new stamped and formed rising clamp mechanism fabricated from 0,7 mm gauge brass that offers improved strength in comparison with previous generation products and imported terminal blocks. Such products are often based on inferior materials and users frequently find that over-turning the screw mechanism can make the clamp buckle. Camden has also heat-treated the metalwork to further harden and strengthen the material. These terminal blocks also feature a new clamp design with a lip that prevents users from accidentally inserting a second wire into the terminal once a cable has been clamped. This avoids any possibility of incorrect wiring.

Moulded from UL94-V0 flame retardant grey polyamide, the terminal blocks are available in 2 and 3-way interlocking modules and solid 4 to 24-way end-stackable parts. A test probe facility is also provided at the back of the connector to allow testing of connections once wiring is completed. Additional features include guided pin alignment and captive screws.

Specifications include 2,5 mm² cable entry, 20 A/250 V rating, dielectric strength >2,5 kV/min, insulation resistance over 5 MΩ, and working temperature from -20-125°C.
