Advanced ADC products launched

Kenet has introduced a family of 8- and 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) products that combine ultra-high performance with extremely low power. Its flagship product - the KAD2710 - sets a new industry standard by operating at sampling rates of 275 MSPS while saving more than 45% of the power required by currently shipping products, it claims. The KAD2710 was developed using the company's FemtoCharge CMOS technology, a new analog signal-processing method that delivers an exceptional combination of high performance and low power consumption. This method provides a unique ADC architecture that is fabricated with standard foundry CMOS processes, says Kenet. By manipulating the signal as a charge - instead of a voltage - the ADC eliminates traditional circuit blocks that have limited speed and performance in the past. The KAD2710 is capable of maintaining an SNR greater than 56,5 dB with input signals up to 200 MHz and SFDR greater than 70 dBc with an 80 MHz input. Other than the 10-bit 275 MSPS KAD2710, the two other 10-bit chips operate at 210 MSPS and 170 MSPS, whilst there are three 8-bit parts with sampling rates of 170 MSPS, 210 MSPS and 275 MSPS.
