Networked digital signage player

23 August 2006 Computer/Embedded Technology

The NDSP-500 (network digital signage player) is a multimedia player device from IEI that allows one to show dynamic contents to a target audience on all kinds of displays. The message shown can be updated at any time and anywhere (networked), which means that a normal display becomes a personal advertising station.

The player has a multizone layout that supports a full spectrum of media formats. Flexible schedule management allows one to show customised contents in different time periods. It also supports the new HDTV format.

The NDSP-500 comes equipped with a RISC-based 200 MHz CPU, onboard 128 MB SDRAM, 24-bit single channel LVDS, 10/100Base-T Ethernet, Mini-PCI type III extension interface and digital signage software. Up to three monitors can be run from one NDSP although the image quality depends on the type of splitter used.

Content can be stored on Compact Flash disk, USB Flash disk or IDE/USB hard disk drive. Network management function is also available to support remote download contents to the NDSP.
