As such, the company is now applying its expertise in nanotechnology, and is employing an innovative nanoceramic coating as a standard procedure in preparation for painting. This gives users a further improvement in quality.
This nanoceramic procedure has been adapted to the pretreatment of steel, zinc and aluminium surfaces and is now replacing the conventional iron phosphate treatment in Rittal's production process. The coating is extremely even, and the pretreatment ensures excellent paint adhesion, which provides significantly improved protection for the painted metal surfaces against corrosion. So now, Rittal's standard surface treatment procedure includes three successive stages: nanoceramic coating, electrophoresis dipcoat priming and a final powder-coating stage.
With the new nanotechnological pretreatment, customers gain increased quality - because the devices have long-term improved protection offering increased service life and a significantly lower need for maintenance. At the same time, the new procedure contributes to environmental protection as it is free of phosphates, solvents and toxic heavy metals.
