Vortex cooler is very quiet

Dowson & Dobson Industrial, the recently-appointed distributors in South Africa for the Vortec range of devices that use compressed air for cooling, moving and cleaning, has announced a new product for enclosure cooling. Claimed to be as quiet as an airconditioner, the noise level of the new Vortex A/C is about the same as normal human conversation.

The next-generation Vortex Cooler features an integral mechanical thermostat to conserve energy and maintain enclosure temperatures within an acceptable range. Requiring only a compressed air supply and a 5 micron filter to operate, the Vortex A/C quickly installs in a 38 mm hole in the top of the enclosure, keeping electrical control panels cool, clean and protected.

Using vortex tube technology, cold air is generated by the Vortex A/C from the compressed air supply and is distributed throughout the enclosure. Since ambient air never enters the cabinet, it is highly suited for harsh, dirty environments. It operates in environments up to 79°C.
