The Counter Tachometer from RS Components is used mainly by mechanical engineers and technicians in the automotive industry to monitor speed of car engines during testing. It is also used to detect the speed of conveyer belts in factories.
Its features include a signal input selection of magnetic pickups, optical and other proximity switches, shaft encoders, Hall effect sensors, turbine or pulse type flowmeters, indication or sensor active, over- and under-range; input pulse divider for division in the range 1-999. This enables the desired engineering units to be displayed and a fixed multiplier in the tachometer mode (for x1, x10 or x100) multiplies the pulses after they have passed through the divider.
The Universal Fork is a niche product used specifically to count different colour items. It also identifies different materials even though the colour may be the same. It is used mainly in the printing industry and warehouses that have large quantities of the same or similar products.
It has a touch to teach setting, which means that it teaches itself as it discovers new colours or materials over and above its memory stored range of colours and materials. It enables effective and accurate stock taking and its other features include a high/low gain selection, multiturn fine adjustment, 0,5 ms response time, red and green light source options for colour mark detection, red light source for double sheet detection, light On/dark On selectable. It is also rated to IP67.
