The majority of waste water, condensation, and submersible pumps use a float (or safety) switch to detect the water level. This device switches off the pump when water level is at the desired state. These switches are typically either a snap or reset switch.
ITT Industries' C&K Switch Products Group was approached by a major manufacturer of condensation pumps to provide a miniature, RoHS-compliant, reset switch with an extremely low actuation and return force as well as a high current rating and long electrical life. The customer's requirements included: operate force under 10 grams; return force under 10 grams; current rating up to 2 A @ 480 V a.c.; current rating up to 5 A @ 240 V a.c.; and electrical life of over 100 K cycles.
The LF Series Reset switch, part number LF03002, was the perfect solution. ITT Industries says the LF series provided a cost-effective switching solution that met all of the customer's requirements. It also includes quick-connect terminals, a unique lever, and mounting holes, to ensure easy installation of the switch.
Product features are an operate force rated 2 to 8 g; a return force rated 2 to 8 g; electrical rating of 2 A @ 480 V a.c., 5 A @ 240 V a.c., and ½ HP @ 480 V a.c.; a compact package size of 21 x 10,5 x 6,5 mm; a wide variety of actuators; and a rated electrical life of 150 K cycles.
The LF series is UL CSA and VDE approved. It is one of the latest additions to the Snap Switch product offering which now provides three different switch solutions to address the needs of the pump industry. The three switch solutions are: TF Series Snap Acting Switch; LF Series Reset Switch; and Custom Designs.

As soon as electronics and electrical systems started interfering with each other, the world had to come to some consensus. Considering physics is universal and does not care about what country electrical/electronic products are used in, it should be the same everywhere, right? It is nearly there, but not quite.
