2 mm square SMT trimmer potentiometer has lowest profile

18 October 2006 Passive Components

Panasonic Electronic Devices has commercialised a 2 mm square low-profile SMT trimmer potentiometer, claimed to have the lowest profile in the industry. Sutable for adjusting circuits in electronic devices, the EVM2T is only 0,7 mm high. The 0,7 mm profile is approximately a 15% reduction compared with Panasonic's current models (0,81 mm high).

As mobile information and communication terminals, such as mobile phones and notebook PCs, have become more compact with more advanced functions, the need for high-density mounting components have been increasingly growing. Components to be used for such devices are required to feature more compact size and lower-profile.

High-reliability is ensured by the use of a metal-glaze resistor. The operating temperature range is -40 to 100°C, and heat resistance and moisture resistance load-characteristics each show a deviation resistance of ±5%.
