Compel Electronics has extended its wide range of coaxial components with new coaxial adapters. These devices are made up of two interfaces and allow coupling to take place in particular conditions.
The two interfaces can belong to the same series of coaxial connectors or to different series. In the first case there can be three versions of adapters: male-male; female-female and male-female.
The first two are for the interconnection of devices that have two connectors of the same series or of the same type as the input or output interface. The male-female adapter, instead, is very often used as a safety component for the connector: it is connected to very expensive devices that have to sustain an extremely high number of manoeuvres, and these operations lead to rapid wear and tear of the connection interfaces. If this is the case, it is more economical to change the adapter rather than have to carry out possible repairs to the device.
The mixed adapters allow the connection of devices that have connectors belonging to different series as their interface. In this case, too, all possible combinations between male and female exist. The adapters are generally straight and free-hanging; in some cases, right-angled adapters or adapters with devices for fixing them to a panel may be required.
Compel Electronics supplies a wide range of coaxial adapters, covering the main series of connectors, such as: SMA, 1,0/2,3, 1,6/5,6, N, BNC, SMP, 7/16, Type 43, etc.
