Nicomatic's CMM100 and CMM200 SMD Micro-Miniature Connectors - two to 25 ways in one row and four to 50 ways in two rows - have low frequency signal contacts. Straight (T) and right angle (R) versions adapt to the PCB for an excellent mechanical flat hold.
An SMD latch leads to substantial production cost reduction on electronic modules as it is no longer necessary to use the strain relief strap and fix to PCB boards. The latch is made of nickel plated beryllium copper to allow a high quality mechanical locking system and to allow PCB soldering at the vapour/reflow stage. The SMD latch is often used in board-to-wire interconnection systems where a connector is fixed to female housings on cable.
As for all the CMM connector series, the insulator is a fibreglass filled thermoplastic rated UL94V0. It offers high performance by withstanding up to 250°C. The chamfer ensures natural polarisation and the latch offers highly secured interconnection: locking of the connector, female pin on cable inside male base on PCB.
