Small connector system at 1,27 mm pitch

21 March 2007 Interconnection

Erni says that its MiniBridge System fulfils nowaday’s requirements for miniaturised and highly reliable connector systems.

The 1,27 mm pitch system offers a large number of various types of wire to board connectors.

The board SMT connectors meet the needs for fast automatic assembly machines. Being quality-proofed by machine there are no issues with co-planarity and soldering. Optimised design layout with a maximum of solder pad size provides high retention forces.

The high wipe length combined with the patented double beam female contact, ensures durable low contact resistance over the whole life. One of its unique features is the high current-carrying capacity. With a special contact material, the connector system achieves up to 1,5 A at 100°C. Due to its flexible arrangement – 90° or 180° cable outlet - space saving assembly is ensured. Splitting or merging single wires is also possible without splicing.

Contacts are post-plated, leaving no bare edges in contact and solder areas. The connectors are polarised and have a positive locking feature when mating to headers. Connector plating complies with RoHS. Preassembled standard cables with 100, 200 and 300 mm length are offered as well as customised cable harnesses.
