Terminal block for signal wiring uses less space

21 March 2007 Interconnection

UTTB 4-MT and TG disconnect terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact are now available with the same design as the UTTB 2,5 and 4 mm² double-level universal terminal blocks. Since it conducts potential energy over two levels, the terminal reduces space requirements by 50% in comparison to single-level terminals.

For various wiring tasks, particularly in the case of MCR technology, a disconnect knife or disconnect plugs, component or fuse plugs for 5 x 20 glass tube fuses can be used in the disconnect zone of the upper level. Measuring devices can be looped in through the screw connections with integrated test sockets so that voltage and current measurements can be performed on both levels at any time and without interruption. This results in a level offset that makes the lower level easier to use.

As part of the Clipline complete system, all the terminal blocks in the UT range have been designed for use with accessories from other systems. As well as featuring the same bridge system, the complete range of labelling and testing accessories matches the spring cage, leg spring, and Quickon IDC connection systems.
