Elen Enclosures manufactures standard 8-, 12-, 24- and 36-pair junction boxes with IP 66 rating and E Ex e II or Ex i certification. Other configurations to customer specifications can also be produced.
The junction boxes comprise of the Sarel Thalassa polyester enclosures with wall-mounting brackets, galvanised chassis plate populated with cable trunking, earth bar and either Ex e or Ex i terminals. The enclosure is fitted with either drilled (Ex i) or drilled and tapped (Ex e) internal gland plate and a brass earth stud. Cable gland holes are sealed with Ex-approved plugs. Ex-certification is by government-approved test houses.
Due to superior sealing (IP 66), robustness (IK 10) and high resistance to UV radiation, weathering, corrosion and chemical attack, these junction boxes have proved themselves in many applications in a wide variety of difficult industrial environments according to Elen Enclosures. A typical intrinsically safe junction box is illustrated in the photo.
Elen can also manufacture non-certified junction boxes and marshalling cubicles in any of its other ranges of enclosures.
