Connectorised power amplifiers span 17 to 31 GHz

2 May 2007 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

Hittite Microwave is offering two connectorised wideband power amplifier modules, which it says are ideal for EW, ECM, radar and test equipment applications from 17 to 31 GHz. The HMC-C020 and the HMC-C021 are GaAs MMIC PHEMT power amplifiers in miniature, hermetic modules with replaceable 2,92 mm connectors.

The HMC-C020 provides 22 dB of gain, 3,5 dB noise figure, +33 dBm output IP3, up to +24 dBm of output power at 1 dBm of gain compression, and operates from 17 to 24 GHz. The HMC-C021 provides 15 dB of gain, 5 dB noise figure, +33 dBm output IP3, up to +24 dBm of output power at 1dB gain compression, and operates from 21 to 31 GHz.

The HMC-C020 and HMC-C021 are also designed with integrated voltage regulators which allows for flexible biasing of both the negative and positive supply pins, while the internal bias sequencing circuitry assures robust operation. The I/Os of these wideband amplifiers are internally matched to 50 Ω and DC blocked.
