Interconnection

Single-row cable connector now with 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 poles

2 May 2007 Interconnection

Erni is expanding its new, single-row cable connector system with a pitch of 1,27 mm. Originally launched in a 4-pin version, additional variants are now available with two, three, six and eight poles. This expanded portfolio provides space-saving and flexible board-to-cable connections. The MiniBridge connectors are well-suited for diverse sensor, actuator, power-supply, and data applications in the fields of automotive and industrial electronics, computer technology, consumer electronics, and medical device technology.

Despite its very small dimensions, the miniature cable connector components offer a high current-carrying capacity of up to 4 A (at 20°C, depending on the cable). At 70° the current-carrying capacity is 3 A, and at 100°C the capacity is 2 A. The wide temperature range of -55 to +125°C provides an additional crucial advantage in making the connector suitable for diverse and demanding applications. The availability of straight or angled male connectors, and female connectors where the cables are fed out at 90 or 180°, enable this connector system to overcome virtually any spatial restrictions.

The male connectors have SMT termination, and the female connectors use IDC termination. In addition, female connectors are available with different types of locking latches.

This low-cost interconnect system incorporates the proven performance features of the well-established 2-row SMC family, and is designed for fully automatic pick and place, or processing on SMT process lines.
