The HV738 and HV748 are two new, fully integrated, high voltage, high speed, four channel ultrasound pulser ICs from Supertex.
These ICs combine logic control circuitry, level translators, MOSFET gate drive buffers and high current, high voltage outputs in one small monolithic package.
Both ICs feature built-in output drain bleed resistors for noise reduction, up to 20 MHz operating frequency, and matched delay times. The four HV738 outputs are specified at up to ±65 V and ±750 mA source and sink current each in pulsed-wave (PW) mode. The HV748's output voltage is specified at ±75 V and output current is specified at ±1,25 A source and sink each in PW mode. They also employ a direct coupling topology to facilitate easier board layout.
They have controls to enable both PW and continuous-wave (CW) mode operations. A key application is for portable ultrasound imaging systems.
