Maxim's MAX9814 is a high-quality microphone amplifier with automatic gain control (AGC) and low-noise microphone bias. The integrated AGC circuitry allows the designer to define hold and release times, as well as the output threshold level. Optimising the signal level prior to digital signal processing ensures a low-noise signal that does not require further gain or attenuation. This high quality audio signal can be converted and processed in the digital domain without further losses, preserving quality. The device integrates a low-noise preamplifier, variable gain amplifier, output amplifier, and an internal low-noise microphone-bias-voltage generator that is capable of driving most electric condenser microphones. It comes in 1,5 x 2 mm,12-bump UCSP and 3 x 3 mm, 14-pin TDFN packages.
