Mod jack is field-replaceable

Samtec has released its new patented LifeJack Modular Jack with end-user replaceable contacts for a virtually unlimited number of cycles. Additionally, damaged contacts are easily replaced in the field without having to send the instrument back to the factory or incur excessive customer downtime.

The compression style contacts are easily replaced without de-soldering the connector or opening the box. As an added benefit, the pin-out is in a true serial in-line format for easier board routing and higher signal integrity.

Samtec's line of I/O interfaces also includes popular standard Mod Jacks and standard and high extraction force Universal Serial Bus (USB) interfaces. In addition, Samtec has panel-to-panel systems for high speed (data rate I/O) and rugged applications as well as conventional VHDCI and HDMI applications.
