Comtest, the local distributor of ALL-TEST Pro products, has announced the launch of the ATPOL II, claimed to be the first motor current signature analysis (MCSA) and power quality analysis system to use a handheld, light-weight, data collector. This obviates the need to carry a PC to test sites.
The ATPOL II system evaluates the electrical and mechanical health of an AC or DC motor and its driven load, as well as incoming power quality showing complete AC/DC power/energy cost analysis. The unit does not require the user to enter nameplate data before data collection. This can be done after the testing and before analysing. Running-Speed and Pole-Pass-Frequency are determined automatically and the software is capable of detecting patterns related to stator slot and rotor bar fault frequencies, the presence of any static or dynamic eccentricity, as well as whether bearing problems exist.
The unit has a CAT IV safety rating of 600 V, is protected by a rugged case with rubberised bottom and comes with a two year limited warranty. The memory card is replaceable, so the user has virtually unlimited storage capability, and the unit is Bluetooth enabled, so that connection to a PC is wireless.
