Rittal’s high performance rack concept for direct deployment in office environments extends the family of scalable plug-and-play rack solutions providing customers an ‘all-in-one’, ready to operate infrastructure.
Included in the package is the liquid cooling package (LCP), an air-water heat exchanger with a cooling output of 20 kW per rack. Because the refrigerant is cooled down outside the building via a re-cooling system, the high performance rack is suitable for quiet office environments. Thanks to the LCP, a powerful, internal horizontal air circulation is created to cool sensitive equipment and safely prevent the occurrence of hot spots in the upper area. With its dimensions (W x H x D) of 800 x 2000 x 1000 mm, as well as glass doors at the front and rear, the rack offers plenty of space for powerful computer installations.
The high performance rack also has a secure power supply via the PSM rail to supply the servers or Blade servers with power, with a maximum phase current and integrated measurement. With the PSM busbar, up to six socket modules (C13, C19 and earth pin) can be simply inserted and protected against shocks and hazards. This allows for two sources of three-phase 48 A to be fed into the rack. Voltage, current, power and kWh can be read via the PSM busbar and transmitted to the CMC-TC (computer multicontrol top concept) monitoring system. In this way, deviations from the settings or excessive loads can be recognised in good time.
To ensure a high level of system availability, the high performance rack uses double-conversion online UPS technology which offers 12 kVA performance with N+1 redundancy and is connected to batteries for eight minutes' stored energy time, which can also be extended. Apart from this, CMC-TC monitors access, temperature and the presence of smoke in the rack by means of appropriate sensors.
The racks can be customised to a customer's specific needs, then delivered and erected pre-configured and pre-wired. Rittal also performs the entire installation procedure with the re-cooling systems and installation work. This means the customer receives a plug-and-play system that is ready to use immediately.
