Schroff has extended its ecopower switch mode regulator range of power supplies. The AC/DC switch mode regulator ecopower SEC148-200 with 56 V output for battery charging, particularly designed for datacoms and telecoms applications, is now also available with an output voltage of 48 V. Despite the high output performance of 200 W, the power supply only occupies a width of 6 HP in 3 U-high 19-inch subracks.
Due to the high efficiency level of up to 90% and very limited failures, the power supply can be arranged with convection cooling. The power supplies are particularly suitable for applications with high demands on functionality, as they suit operation in n+1 redundant systems or hot-swap capable systems.
An integrated optional microcontroller can be utilised for the control of the power supply, allowing for output levels such as UI, performance and resistance to be defined and stored. The microcontroller is equipped with digital inputs/outputs, so that for example temperature dependent fans can be switched off or alarms can be generated. The 200 W ecopower modules are compatible with the 100 W versions (SEM 148).
All ecopower switch mode regulators have a range of between 90 and 256 V. With active power factor correction in accordance with EN 6100-3-2 an efficiency rating higher than 98% can be reached. For serial production fully automatic 100% tests including AOI and burn-in for minimum 8 hours guarantee the high quality of the product.
