New capacitors for several series

23 January 2008 Passive Components

Kemet has released seven new capacitors in its T491/4 Commercial, T495 Low ESR/Surge Robust and T498 High Temperature Series.

There are three new CV additions to the T491/4 Commercial series, including a 10 μF, 20 V A-Case (3216-18) and a 100 μF, 6,3 V M-Case (3528-15), representing what the manufacturer claims to be the highest capacitance available in the industry today for the given case size and voltage configuration.

Three new T495 Low ESR/Surge Robust part types have been added, including an M-Case (3528-15) 100 μF, 6,3 V design available with ESR options of 1000 mΩ and 500 mΩ. Also available in the T495 D-Case (7343-31) is a 150 μF, 16 V offering now with a maximum ESR rating of 85 mΩ. This series is designed for applications with high surge current potential such as DC/DC converters and output filtering on power supplies.

In the T498 High Temperature (150°C) series a 47 μF, 35 V device has been produced in a 150°C rated package (X Case: 7343-43). Available with an ESR rating of 500 mΩ, this low ESR design offers high performance in high temperature applications. The T498 Series is designed to deliver stable and reliable performance in high temperature applications such as automotive under-the-hood systems and oil exploration.

These new releases are available in RoHS compliant (Pb-free) finishes and are capable of meeting the 260°C peak Pb-free profiles.
