Micro-power dual op-amp extends battery life and accuracy

The AD8506 dual operational amplifier from Analog Devices consumes only 20 μA supply current while offering high linearity to maximise sensing accuracy in portable applications. The low-power CMOS device with rail-to-rail inputs and output is designed for portable applications, including battery-powered patient monitors, remote sensors, handheld instrumentation and other mobile equipment that require precision measurement at low voltage levels with minimal power consumption. Featuring novel circuit architecture, the AD8506 maintains high linearity by minimising distortion through its power supplies and its inputs. Its high power supply rejection ratio minimises errors caused by power supply voltage variations over a battery's lifetime, making the device suitable for battery powered applications. Furthermore, the AD8506 maintains 105 dB CMR, maximising linearity by minimising the common-mode induced distortion often found in amplifiers having rail-to-rail inputs. The AD8506 is available in an 8-lead MSOP.
