New rugged discrete wire cable system

30 April 2008 Interconnection

Samtec recently expanded its rugged Discrete Wire Cable family to include the 1,27 mm pitch Micro Mate Discrete Wire Cable Terminal assembly (TFSD Series).

The discrete wire family, which also includes a socket assembly (SFSD Series), provides rugged cable-to-board solutions for the popular TFM/SFM Series board-to-board interconnect system and features Samtec's high reliability Tiger Eye contact system.

Samtec's full line of rugged discrete wire cable systems also includes Power Mate (PMSD/PMSS/IPBD Series) and Mini Mate (MMSD/MMSS/IPD1 Series) which provide isolated power/wire-to-board solutions for Power Mate and Mini Mate board-to-board interconnect systems.

The 4,19 mm pitch Power Mate system provides up to 5,5 A per power contact while the 2,54 mm pitch Mini Mate system offers 3,6 A per contact.

All three discrete wire assemblies are available with ruggedising features including polarisation, guide pins and friction latching system for higher withdrawal forces.
