Due to the continuous demand for smaller, better performing USB connectors, Hirose has introduced its next generation Micro-B USB connectors which fully comply with the Micro-USB 2.0 standard.
These connectors are designed with space in mind, saving 25% in the mounting area and 48% in volume compared to the company's Mini-USB connectors. Although smaller, they have high-speed performance of 480 Mbps and feature superior mechanical and electrical performance. Mating and unmating operations of 10 000 cycles can be achieved, while withdrawal forces of 8 Newtons are maintained throughout the product's lifetime.
Several different varieties are available, with many more under development, all of which meet with RoHs compliance. This broad product range meets many manufacturer applications such as ultra thin phones, data recorders, readers, cameras, PA headsets, handheld GPS units and many others.
