DPDT switches for high-frequency signals

11 June 2008 Switches, Relays & Keypads

Maxim has introduced the MAX4996/MAX4996L triple double-pull/double-throw (DPDT) switches for multiplexing high-frequency signals up to 670 MHz. To enable high-frequency switching, these switches feature low on-resistance of 2,0 Ω, low on-capacitance of 6 pF and low power consumption of 3 μA. Additionally, they provide three logic inputs to control the switches in pairs. Consuming only 10 μA when the logic inputs are not rail-to-rail, these switches are well suited for applications that must interface directly with low-voltage processors. High-frequency switching enables multiplexing SDHC and SDIO interfaces, making these devices ideal for portable applications such as cellphones, PDAs, and portable media players (PMPs). Available in a space-saving, 3,5 x 3,5 mm, 24-pin TQFN package, the devices operate from a 2,5 V to 5,5 V supply-voltage range and are fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
