Measuring a mere 56 x 30 mm, the connector can be used in applications such as the latest generation of POS terminals and electric, gas and water meters.
In a product designed for security, contacts are protected and the metal casing provides high mechanical stability, ensuring that no two cards can be inserted at one time. A secure switch forms the basis for safe card presence detection, while gold-plated wiping contacts guarantee a lifespan of up to 100 000 mating cycles. Suitable for pick-and-place and surface mount soldering, the connector can be integrated into large-scale series production.
Variants with Flexprint are also available and can be adapted to meet individual customer requirements. When installed with the optional addition of tamper protection, the product fulfils all PCI/PET specifications; a basic requirement demanded by payment terminals.
