Delivering from 3 A to 12 A of output current and supporting up to 28 V input, Exar’s PowerBlox family provides in a single chip solution integrating the controller and MOSFETs, a highly efficient (up to 95%) synchronous step-down converter with minimal external components.
Output voltage can go as low as 0,8 V and as high as VIN, and the devices operate from 300 kHz to 1,3 MHz. They also incorporate soft-start and over-current protection in their 7 x 4 mm DFN package.
The ICs are suitable for applications such as distributed power architectures, point-of-load converters and modules, and FPGA and processor power supplies.
