Complete fixed-speed induction motor solution

Power Electronics / Power Management
The Somar Integra is a complete fixed-speed induction motor solution with many programmable features that can be tailored to the user’s specific needs.
A soft start feature prevents a high in-rush current and uncontrolled torque causing unnecessary damage to motors. This feature is effectively an electronic clutch which provides a gradual uptake of power with smooth stepless acceleration causing less stress on the equipment, for example motor contactors, drive chains and conveyor systems. The soft stop feature is particularly applicable to pumping applications, as these are vulnerable to damage from hydraulic shock caused by fluid surge.
An optimisation feature evaluates the load on the motor every cycle of the supply and adjusts the voltage accordingly, thus giving the motor intelligence and only feeding it the energy required to complete the task in hand, without reducing its speed. Also, by monitoring the motor flux, the Integra will prevent the motor from stalling.
Various three-phase units are available, to accommodate various motor kilowatt ratings.
