Low-power comparators

12 November 2008 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

Maxim has introduced the new MAX9060–MAX9065 low-power, low-voltage comparators. Available in a 1 x 1 mm UCSP and a 5-pin SOT23, these devices operate from a wide 0,9 V to 5,5 V power-supply range, which is particularly useful for low-battery conditions in portable equipment. To maximise battery life, the MAX9060/MAX9061 single comparators consume only 350 nA of quiescent current at 5,5 V.

The product family includes five variations of single comparators and one window comparator. The MAX9060/MAX9061 feature open-drain outputs and draw their supply current from an external reference voltage. The MAX9062/MAX9063/ MAX9064 offer either a push-pull or an open-drain output, consume only 1,1 μA at 5,5 V, and include a 0,2 V internal reference. The MAX9065 3,0 V to 4,2 V window comparator features a push-pull output and consumes 1,3 μA at 5,5 V. All devices feature a 0,3 V to 5,5 V input common-mode range that is independent of the supply voltage.
